Important findings

Wound dressing of plants with 0.2% carbendazim immediately after pruning for control of the disease. Soil treatment with carbendazim/ captan @ 8 kg/acre to be practiced. Integrate fungicide application with the nematicide carbofuran @ one kg a.i./acre since root rot and root knot diseases are complementary to each other.

Height of pruning should be increased to 20-30 cm above ground level and immediately after pruning the cut ends and the slumps should be sprayed with 0.2% carbendazim solution. To avoid stacking of pruned stem portions besides gardens and nurseries to prevent multiplication of the pathogen.Drench the soil around the uprooted infected plant with 0.2% carbendazim or captan solution.
