Important findings Eight bacteria were isolated, purified from diseased leaf samples collected from different places like Mysore, Palghat, Kanjirapally and RSRS, Coonoor and maintained on nutrient agar media. Seven bacterial cultures were send to US Department of Agriculture, USA for identification. The above cultures were studied and identified for gram positive and gram negative bacteria and identified as Pseudomonas moriand Xanthomonasspecies. Various in vitrofungicides were screened against Pseudomonas mori. Foltaf and Dithane M45 were found effective on par with recommended antibiotic (Streptocycline). |
