Important findings Percentage reduction in plant height and leaf yield in first year (1988) and second year (1989) was 10.5 and 12.1% and 9.2 and 14.4% in the untreated plot respectively due to nematode. Considerable reduction in galls number and larval population was 51.7% and 54.9% and 20.5% and 49.6% in first and second year respectively was noticed in the treated plot respectively. However, percentages increase in galls number (46.1 and 79.6) and larval population (38.5 and 41) in first and second year in untreated plot. Disease reduced the leaf yield by 11.8% amounting a loss of 4500 kg leaf/ha/year. Recommended the application of neem cake at 2-3 tons/ha or Carbofuran at 4-6 kg/ha in four equal split doses to be used for control of root-knot disease. |
