Leaf rust (Cerotelium fici)

Period of occurrence:

The disease occur during the winter season (October- February)

Identify leaf rust disease of mulberry:

1. Presence of reddish brown pin head like pustules on the lower side of the  leaves
2. Presence of minute brown spots concomitant to the pustules on the upper surface of the leaves .
3. Yellowing and drying of the leaf in the severe stage.
4. Presence of  uredinospores which are oval to round
